Shippensburg, PA (August 9, 2010) – In its 7th year, Uprise Festival continues as the Cumberland Valley’s premier Christian music event by playing host to a spectacular line up of Christian music’s hottest bands for its 2010 event. The one-day Festival, featuring activities for the entire family, will be held Saturday, September 18th at Shippensburg Fairgrounds in Shippensburg, PA. Gates will open at 11:00am, with performances running from noon – 10:00pm.

The diverse list of performers for this year’s event includes: Skillet, Newsboys, Red, The Almost, Fireflight, Disciple, House of Heroes, Decyfer Down, KJ 52, B.Reith, Chasen, Between the Trees, Abandon, Everyday Sunday, Brooke Barrettsmith, and Hyland, along with local bands Crimson Door, Next 2 Nothing and Ryan Payne Band. This year’s speaker will be Bob Lenz. The Roxtreme Showcase stage will feature performances from up and coming local bands.

“We are excited to bring such an amazing lineup of artists to Shippensburg,” say Scott Brown, Festival Producer. “It will be a great day of music, teaching and fun for all who attend. We’re planning for a record attendance this year!”

Aiming to be a family-friendly event with something for everyone, the festival also hosts a children’s program, Uprise Kidz, which will feature face painting, story telling, games and prizes, kids worship, clowns, snacks and much more. A Youth Leaders Lounge will also be available, providing resources, networking, encouragement from speakers and a place for youth leaders to hang out.

In addition to the music, the Festival also provides free activities and entertainment for all ages including inflatables, skate park, climbing wall, volleyball and video game den. Local companies, Rita’s Italian Ice and Starbucks Coffee, will be providing treats along with RockStar Energy Drink and Red Bull.

Uprise Festival will also host the Artesian Well Art Gallery, featuring works from local artists. Submissions for the gallery must be received by August 28th. Additional information can be found online at www.artesianwell.org.

Tickets for Uprise are very reasonable at $30, and those who purchase prior to September 1st, will receive a free t-shirt. Prices remain the same when purchased at the gate, but do not come with the t-shirt.

“This year we are adding a special, limited ‘VIP Ticket’,” explains Brown. “These are $50 and in addition to admission into the event, these ticket holders will also be able to attend a special meet and greet with the Newsboys, a festival poster signed by the bands as well as the free t-shirt.”
